Dupont Summit 2014 on Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy Issues

The purpose of the Dupont Summit is to promote interdisciplinary dialogue about pressing issues related to science, technology and the environment. The conference mirrors the interest of the PSO and its partners in promoting conversation about current policy concerns. While presentations are part of the program, the other equally important aspect is the networking opportunities provided throughout the day as speakers and attendees are encouraged to mingle. Food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day at no cost.

Planning Resilience for High Impact Threats to Critical Infrastructure

Distinquished presenters and panelists will include US Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), FERC Commissioner Philip D. Moeller, former Congressman Roscoe Bartlett, former Assistant Secretary of Defense Dr. Paul Stockton, Ambassador Hank Cooper, VA Commonwealth Senator Bryce Reeves, Honorable Andrea Boland, NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center staff and senior FBI HQ officials. Top experts will update measures being taken to plan for and mitigate high-impact threats such as EMP, extreme space and cyber to critical infrastructure including power, communications and medical infrastructure. This year's conference will also review recent emergency management table top exercises providing insights into practical steps that can be taken to reduce the tragic effects of these high-impact scenarios.
